Winter trend: Wear a Trench as a Dress.

So a few days ago,we had a christmas dinner at work. It turned out to be really fun. It's the first i've been to since i joined the company and i really enjoyed myself.

Anyhoo, before all the fun,i was faced with a dilemma of finding the appropriate outfit for it. You see,i didn't want to be over dressed or under dressed since it was a gathering with my co-workers. At the end, i opted for a look that has been trendy for ages. I wore my trench as a dress.

The trench as a dress look is a perfect way to have a two in one outfit. It is a coat that can also be worn as a dress, what else can be better than that? It is perfect for the fall/winter season beacause you can stay warm and look good too. So why not invest in a stylish trench this season. Burberry are known for their chic coats, if that's too pricy then you can get one from any highstreet store around you.

Here are some tips on how to wear your trench as a dress:
1. Don't wear it to any outdoor events like a beach party or something in the park or out in the garden. Most trench are long sleeved and would suit better in cooler temperatures.
2. Accessorize your coat as you would a dress so it can look less like a coat.

At the end, this was how i looked...didn't know i had a torn sock until after the dinner. Oh well,it's all fashionable;) I am wearing a trench from Aurafashionno 2012 fall/winter collection.

Here are some celebrities who rock or have rocked this trend:

Victoria Beckham

Kim Kardashian-West

Kate Middelton

Rene Zellweger

Kate Moss

All these women and loads of others continue to rock this trend. If my post has inspired you today, then you should be thinking of buying yourself one this season. Let me know what you think.Share your tips and inspiration with me ☺

Fall trends: How to wear an oversize sweater.

Wow! Hi everyone,it's been a long minute. I really apologise for not updating this blog as often as i used to but i have had too much on my plate for a while now and this just had to take a back seat. Anyhoo,i'm back and hopefully this time,i will do better :)

So we are officially in fall and i'm sure there are some people like me who are still in denial about the summer. We still get some warm sunny days and some of us try to get away with wearing some summer clothes and shoes but the colder it gets, the thicker our clothes become.

Let's talk about sweaters shall we? The Oversize sweater to be precise.I really love me an oversize sweater because it is a very fashionable way to stay warm this fall/winter.You can have layers of clothing underneath which keeps you warm and and which means that you wouldn't necessarily need a coat or jacket. I have selected some pics to illustrate how this trend can be worn differently depending on the occasion. I hope this post can inspire someone when next they want to dress up this season.
Here we go:
Depending on how big your sweater is or how skinny you are,you can wear it alone like a dress as shown here.Pair it with knee high boots to have an edgy look.

The easiest way to wear an oversize sweater is to pair it with leggings, tights or skinny jeans.

A big colourful scarf will add colour to your look as well as keeping you warm.

On warmer days you can replace those warm booties for heels and the pants for skirts.Paired with a pencil/mini skirt an oversize sweater can also look sexy.
What are you waiting for,go get yourself a oversize sweater today.

Did this post inspire you or do you have something else to add? Let us hear from you.Feel free to drop a comment. Stay safe everyone!

Are you Summer Ready?Part 3

                                                           Hair and Makeup

So this is my third and final list on neccessary summer essentials. Hair and makeup. Although  every woman can have whatever hair or makeup she chooses during the summer, there are just some specific trends that really suit the warm days. Here are a few of my suggestions:

The Bun
This is probably the easiest and best hair trend that goes well for every summer. It is a cool way to show off your face and neck and also suits any time of the day.

The Braids
For women of colour and maybe some women of other races, the braid hair trend is a perfect way to manage your hair through out the summer. It is easy to style and maintain and it is just a feel good kinda hair.

The Side braid
This is like a ponytail but on the side.If you can't be bothered with braids and want to wear your hair down without having it all over the place, then this is the perfect hair for you, this season.

For me a fresh-faced makeup is so perfect for the summer. It looks like you have almost no makeup at all and it's also a way of getting some sun and air into your pores. For a night look, you can do a smokey eye and wear a nude lipstick.

So there you have it. My complete list of your summer essentials. This is my list,so you can always make up yours. What do you guys think?Would you change anything?
