NATURAL CURLS FOR BLACK HAIR.

Hmmm this is a tough topic but here we go.Recently i read a write-up from a black woman who was condemning other black women for wearing weaves instead of their natural hair.A lot of people seemed to have different opinions about it.I for one, agreed with her in some areas. She seemed to think or imply that it was a low self esteem issue.I am a black African woman,i can tell you first hand that it is very difficult to wear my hair natural.

Last year, while i was pregnant,i decided to cut it all off and let it grow back without any chemicals/relaxer in it and the journey, so far, hasn't been easy.I haven't mastered the art of keeping it soft and easy to comb,so i'm still stuck with my weaves .I plan to continue growing it out, natural, until it's long enough for me to get curls in them and maybe then,i can say goodbye to weaves.
I don't think black women with weaves have low self esteem,i just think that most of them, like me,have problems styling and maintaining their hair.
With that said, loads of women and even men  wear their hair natural and i have some pics of them.Maybe they may inspire someone else to go natural:)

  1. Going nature and maintaining the hair is one big task especially if you don't know how to make your hair to get curls etc... I have seen lovely pictures of people with natural hair and I love it so, so much. Again we all have different hair type and the kind of winter we have in this part of the world is not good for our hair. I did my big chop last week Saturday. I hope I will be able to maintain and stick to my natural hair.
